Q: Why recruit from overseas?

A:

In addition to an improved access to suitably qualified and experienced people, international recruitment affords extra flexibility to the employer. The global macroeconomic dynamics have created unprecedented opportunities for Australian resources, construction, engineering and mining companies. To exploit these, companies need to have an access to a suitably qualified and experienced workforce. However, Australian industry is already showing signs of skilled labour shortages, particularly in regional and remote locations. To facilitate an uninterrupted growth, Australian businesses are increasingly looking overseas for solutions to their workforce issues.

Q: Why recruit from Russia and the Ukraine?

A:

Russian and Ukrainian workers are generally highly experienced and well trained.  However, the working conditions and remuneration arrangements in their home countries are inadequate. Our clients relay their business requirements to us, and we do the rest. Our clients can choose to either go through the visa application process themselves, or ask Heltan to take care of this process. (Heltan has an exclusive partnership with the prominent migration law firm, Careri, Yang & Associates, who can assist with all the documentation and lead the application and follow-up processes).

Q: What about the language barrier?

A:

Depending on your company’s specific business needs, Heltan will be able to tailor a suitable solution for you, which could include:

• Requiring all candidates to undertake a short course that will cover your company’s operations, OH&S policy and other specific technical and safety requirements, prior to arrival in Australia

• Requiring all candidates to have a basic knowledge of English

• Provide a guide/interpreter to support the group of employees, particularly in regional and remote locations.


Q: Does Heltan have a capacity to fulfill clients' needs in highly specialised/technically demanding areas?

A:

The materials, resources, engineering and construction are amongst Russia's and Ukraine's key industries. This means that well skilled specialists are always in good supply, almost in any area of specialisation

 

Q: Will Heltan be able to cater for projects in remote locations?

A:

Our candidates are prepared to travel to remote locations - in fact, many of them have been doing so throughout their careers. Importantly, Heltan provides ample information to the prospective candidates regarding the terms of their employment and their expected living conditions in Australia, in advance of finalising the candidate selection process.

 

Q: : Can Heltan differentiate its service with respect to the level of candidates' requirements regarding qualifications and/or years of practical experience?

A:

Absolutely. The range of candidates is from fresh graduates from TAFEs and universities with two-three years of practical experience to accomplished workers/engineers with practical experience of 15 years and above.
